I’ve been shipping updates to DirectCall based on what users actually need. Here’s what’s new.

Video Controls Auto-Hide

The video controls now automatically hide after 3 seconds of inactivity. Touch or click anywhere on the video to bring them back.

Why? Because sometimes you just want to see the person you’re talking to, not a bunch of buttons. The controls are there when you need them, out of the way when you don’t.

Switch Between Cameras

On mobile devices, you can now switch between your front and back cameras during a call. Tap the camera switch button to flip between views.

Useful when you want to show something in your environment, or just prefer a different angle. Works on both iOS and Android.

Screen Sharing (Open Beta)

Screen sharing is now available in open beta. Share your screen during meetings to show presentations, walk through documents, or collaborate in real-time.

This one’s still in progress - I’m actively improving it based on feedback. If you try it and something doesn’t work as expected, let me know.

What’s Next

I’m continuing to improve DirectCall based on how people actually use it. Simple features that make the connection smoother, not features that add complexity.

Try it at directcall.app and see what you think.
